Hi... Anyone using an Inogen G3 portable concentrator? I pack a cylinder in a conventional backpack but its uncomfortable and seems to be getting heavier (I refuse to get punier!!) The G3 looks very interesting. Thanks
Ryan Diesem of Valley Technologies, a research center that does a lot of work on POC's and other O2 devices (using them in the real world to see if they actually do what the manufacturer says they will do), publishes an annual review of POC's in the Pulmonary Paper, which is available on line. The most recent one I have is this one:

Here are three other resources you'll find useful:
Excellent webinar by Bob McCoy on delivery systems, titrating, and all things O2

AARC’s analysis of Portable O2 Concentrators

When you read Ryan's article, you'll see that if you need more than 2lpm for anything, there are currently only three or four POC's that will provide 3 lpm and they are all ones that you'd need a cart for. None of the others will, regardless of what settings they have. The settings are arbitrary, and mean only what the manufacturer says they mean, and sometimes the manufacturer states thing in a way that can be misleading. After all, they want to sell their products.....
I hope this helps.
Jean
More food for thought! Do you carry a cylinder too, just in case?
Hyla... Everything has to be somewhere ;-)) But many times "somewhere" is way too arbitrary! Thanks for your efforts! And I was upset recently when I thought I had forever lost my butterfly ring - hand crafted silver which I bought from a craftsman in 1987. But, thank you Rosie - she wanted a biscuit and I had to "dig" to the very bottom of my treat pouch - Yeah!! the ring was found!
And Jean... Did a copy and paste of your comments. Really appreciate the info and will check out the websites. I'm not very skilled with working with fabric but I have some ideas on a backpack that would make it easier to cart around the cylinders. Thanks very much! Most appreciated!
Medicare and secondary just got me one and it is the neatest thing since buttered toast.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member That is the one I have. It is the Inogene One G2. I guess it is the only one that goes up to 6. I have had mine for almost a year. I really like it. Like you, I always have an extra, charged battery with me. Take care and remember to breath deeply.
