Costochondritis is inflammation of the rib cage and is unfortunately a side effect for many with COPD and pulmonary disease. Speak to your doctor as it is an inflammatory side effect and can sometimes be treated with medicine such as Ibuprofen, baclofen and alike. As always, see your doctor first.

Be careful as I had sharp pains on breathing under my ribs on the right side and it turned out to be a gastric bleed and I ended up severely and dangerously anaemic.
