I have Alpha 1 and one of my treatments is through IV Therapy every two weeks with Aralast. There is about three other drugs as well that do the same thing. Anyway they are very expensive drugs and medicare will not pay for it even with the supplement. So I was fortunate enough to be able to keep my private insurance for my former employment. Has your doctor/specialist gone and written a letter why you need the medicine? If not they need too! I take several meds that are over $2,000 and all I have is Medicare! Take good care!

I would check with the Alpha-1 Association at www.alpha-1.org That group has lots of resources and ought to be able to help you out.
