Yes, it tends to run higher. A hospital dr raised the dosage I normally take, and no fooling around, I thought I was dying after 6 weeks. Finally got my pc to lower to what it was, as it wasn't him that raised it, and felt better in a werk. Still feel awful, but at least I can function.

First of all, thank you for all the kind and informative feedback. I have had to take both steroidal meds and blood pressure meds but I was in the hospital for the serious quantities I was having to take for both high blood pressure & COPD (discovery of) attack……..I would alway ask my cardiologist and/or my pulmonary doctor, and my pharmacist about mixing medicines oneself (if possible , read all the drug information provided with prescriptions. My albuterol nebuizer breathing treatments I think has steroidal properties, as well as my emergency inhaler. I take much lower doses of Blood Pressure Meds due to diet, exercise and control of anxiety disorder (and probably PTSD with what all they have discovered affects us and how it interacts with other activities going on in our bodies beside air into the lungs)………Pooh, those aortic aneurysms may be small, and doc's are probably keeping their eyes on…..I had a dissection along with 2 aneurysms so it needed immediate attention. I would certainly be in for regular checks……….you can go online to the TexasHeartInstitute and they have a free program that you can simply ask a question of your choosing and an appropriate physician will answer you back…..this is a program they use some of their donations for, for its proper operation. (This is where Dr Denton Cooley is still present)……….DesmaTwomey…….and MarySmith3, thank you!

I am on a mild BP tablet, it does not interfere with my steroid meds, not even when I was on higher dosage.. I would ask my Dr. &/ my Chemist to make absolutely sure as may depend on actually individual medication that you are taking... mine is Rampiril.

I have high blood pressure spikes (really high) and when I finally started going to a primary care doctor (I have medicare supplement so I basically choose my own doctors and method of care), she spent a lot of time talking to me and diagnosed me with anxiety feeding my arterial hypertension. I have gone from 100 mgs. of correg (carvedilol), which is very very high dosage to 12.5 mgs. a day, plus I have two other types of meds that I take if my systolic gets over 140 and one med if my diastolic gets over 90………..I have almost eliminated both of those meds so now it is usually just the 12.5 mg of correg……….I changed to a mediterrean diet and that olive oil basically is like a blood pressure med, it is miraculous. I do have to take an anxiety med but I am so much healthier than I was. Of course, I still deal with my COPD on a daily basis, but things have gotton much much better for me. (I stopped smoking over 5 years ago when I had a dissected aorta and 2 aortic aneurysms, stopped cold turkey……..and, I love being a non smoker which I never thought would happen to me)
