It's consistent with a nasty flare. If you're concerned, call your doc and see if you can't taper down after four days.

I have had that before they called it a prednsone burst I usually get it when I have a flare up but like Kathy said check with your dr. take care

If you are talking about prednisone, it will help keep you opened up until the antibiotics can help kill what is ever in there. Then you start your taper down on it.

60 mg is a good 'bolus' dose for a flare. if the dose is too low or too short, it does not help. you do need to see your doc for a tapering schedule bc you can't just stop prednisone, or switch dosages too abruptly. I am on 20 mg a day all the time. people may not like this med, but it can be a wonder drug in a flare.

Kathy, Tony said 3 20mg tabs of prednisone: that's 60 mgs, which is commonly prescribed. It's not the difference between 3mgs and 20 mgs.
