Does Anyone Else Have A Problem With Severe Sweating?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

It involves mostly my head and comes on suddenly with no warning. In just moments my entire head can be sopping wet and my hair dripping. It's extremely embarrassing. I take 14 different medications and wonder if that might be the cause.

Steroids that are prescribed for copd mess with the bodies natural hormone levels. Prednisone in particular is notorious for knocking hormone and vitamin levels off. It's a side effect we live with cause the sweating/hot flashes are the lesser evil in this equation. I would make sure to talk to your Dr about this. It could be as simple as a daily suppliment to fix this. He/she can order a simple blood test to check it out

it can be a number of things but unprovoked sweating can be from hormone imbalance and taking multiple meds can actually cause that. We need our meds so much that sometimes it is better to address the issue of maybe treating the imbalance rather than quitting a med or sorting out the culprit. you know who you have to talk it out with. ask the doc if it could be an imbalance and is there an easy solution. Brreath easy my friend. I hope it gets better soon.

Hi Ive been getting this for years and it is so embarrassing. Its like having a sprinkler turned on in my head!, my makeup slides off and water runs off me. At times it can be so bad its impossible to apply makeup at all. I have found it has lessened a bit lately, not sure why. It doesnt really matter whether Im hot or cold. Hope maybe someone has an answer to it x
