I try to prepare everyone in advance what they might expect of me,including a nap. Most folks help out and seem happy to assist. If I take a nap, I ask someone to wake me at a certain time.
When I fix dinner I always have those invited bring a contribution to the meal. It's not about the meal, it's about getting together with people that mean alot to you.

You have a long time yet Miss Pamela, you are going through a hard time right now. There are lots of beautiful things in our lives. If you wish to de-clutter start with one room and just start sorting.
To me being retired means I can do what I want to when I want to do it.

I live 50 miles from the Macinac Bridge and all my family is downstate. Therefore we go out for dinner on the holidays - easy for me and no stress ! !
