I have them too; they are massive. All I have to do is scratch an itch and I get a blood bruise; but only on my arms. My doctor tells me it's because my skin is thin from too much sun when I was younger. I've never believed that to be the cause, and have attributed it to my steroid medication(s), both pill form and inhaler. So I asked my cousin who went to college to be a pharmacist and she ells me that prolonged steroid use thins the skin resulting in blood bruises.

Hope this is helpful.

Sorry to hear that you have cataract Rikki. I didn't even know I had it until it was pretty severe and surgery was warranted. I was at a point where I hadn't been able to drive at night for two years, and since I was pretty much home bound with my COPD it wasn't addressed until I got tired up cutting and scraping my legs up.

However, they will not do surgery until it reduces your vision by a certain percentage. So I would ask my doctor for a f/u with the opthamologist every 6-months to a year to determine if you are eligible for the surgery.

I must say that I was amazed at the clarity I was seeing after the surgery. It was Definitely Worth It.
