About COPD

My husband have COPD and is Diabetic with hight blood presure.He use an electric machine daily for up to 16 hours.We can not go anywhere because he get breath shortness to much,We are living in South Africa and I am looking for a portable oxygen unit it is very expensive and he was put on ill health January 2015 with a little pension we can not afford the portable oxygen machine.If anybody know of one witch will not be to expensive please let me know urgently

@Useful (4) I'm on oxy. 24/7 and on Medicare and a secondary Ins, with Blue Cross of California . I don't have to pay a cent except my deductible . You shouldn't have to be paying all the costs. Have you asked his Dr. for help in getting a plan that will help you out . Good luck I add ed you to my T eam please let me know if you find any help .

Well, when I was told I had sleep aperia (which I ended up not having) but my full mash would brake seal when I put my head on the side of pillow.. (side sleeping... ) and it did make that noice...I have no answer.. I tried not go on my side..

Unfortunately, the ones that are worthwhile are also quite expensive. You can get cheap ones, but they will not produce enough O2 to make a difference. You can check newspapers and websites where things are sold and see what you can find.

I bought a cheap one for $250. I simply wasted my money because I do not think it produces enough oxygen to make a difference :( I know how you feel. Activity outside the home is also limited for me because of this. Good Luck and let me know if you stumble upon one at a reasonable cost.
