Does Medical Profession Really Understand COPD?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I got really excited when I was invited to attend a COPD clinic at local surgery, as I think care has been very ad-hoc (when I was diagnosed in 2009 my physio said "I have known people survive 10 years with this condition"). Today when I went to the clinic the first thing the nurse said to me was "who told you you have COPD, you have Bronchietasis that is not COPD. I told her the specialist who diagnosed it and did CT scan told me and showed me the XRays and damage to my lungs!!!! I asked her… read more

Yes walking. It was difficult at first, I could only walk like 10 minutes but I kept at it and I walked 6000 steps the other day. It took me quite a while but I just keep pushing on with many breaks.

Does Anyone Else Have Asthma, COPD And Also Bronchiectasis As Their Diagnosis?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Good morning all!

I met up with a specialist respiratory nurse the other day who has queried my diagnosis of asthma and COPD and wonders if there is 'an element of bronchiectasis'.

She is intending to discuss my symptoms and history at a multidisciplinary meeting and report back to my GP so at the moment I'm back in limbo, but just wondering if others have this mixed up kind of diagnosis… read more
