Does Anyone Have Aspergillius In Your Lungs Along With Your COPD.
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Aspergillius is caused from mold and due to my steriod use made me sensitive to the mold. I take voraconazole and will have to contnute that for life. Just wanted to know if anyone else has this and was able to stop the medication. I also have aspergilloma which is fungus balls caused by cavities in my lungs from the COPD.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member, what medication did they have you on? Were you on the medication the whole 12 years? I am so glad to hear that there is some hope of getting of the medication. Do you have a lot of coughing and fatigue (of course these could both be COPD related also. One more questions how do they know there are still traces in your lungs (chest x-ray)? Thanks for answering this and to give me some hope of getting better. Blessings.l

No the oral steriods.
When they finally figured out I had aspergillius it was all over both lungs. I am going to ask the doctor about it going dormant. Thanks.

In 2001, 1/2 of my lower right lung was removed because of suspected Stage 3 cancer. As it turns out, it was Aspergillus fungus. A couple of years later, I was diagnosed with Copd. It is a challenge but doable.

I have fungus in my lungs from working in a bakery the wheat flour in the air caused it. I have had this for 12 years I'm now off the meds for the fungus and I'm off steroids unless I need them. There are still traces in my lungs and always will be but I'm improved on how I was.
