I am having a flare up of my COPD, but in addition new problems have arisen such as pain in upper back radiating to armpit an shoulder and arm, horseness. It is difficult to get into see my Pulmonary doctor, but not sure Primary can help. Don't feel it warrants ER visit.
If in the states, go to an Urgent Care Clinic. Obviously if uncontrollable, go to the ER.
With those new problems I would say it might be wise to go to ER. Call your primary and explain what going on, he or she may get you in right away or tell you ER also. Don't waste time. Really ! Hugs
It sounds as though your problems would be best seen by the PCP; he can send you off to a specialist if necessary. What you're describing may not have anything to do with your COPD at all. Avoid the ER by all means!
Thanks Hon - follow through, we don't need any more of us in hospital but if it's necessary - then so be it !!!! :-)
Either one could help
