What Is Yellow From Exacerbation Or From Pollen
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I feel like those gross men that "hork" and spit. Often it feels like there is something draining from the back of my throat and when I clear it, it is yellow but if I blow my nose it is clear. I am not coughing and do not feel congested but am very short of breath. I am at stage 4 of copd i(emphysema) if that makes any difference.

call the physician. I have a Zpak and if I think I'm getting an infection I start immediately. I'm stage 4, hardly as though I'll build up a tolerance. I agree with Sara, every exacerbation I have had has put me in the hospital for at least 5 days. Take care! A lot of this is knowing yourself and how you react to the disease....I think

That's a trip to the doctor sounds like an exacerbation

There is a product called ALKALOL recommended to me a very long time ago by an Ear ,Nose, and Throat doctor. Google it to find out where they sell it in your area. CVS, Walgreens and local Rexall drug stores carry it. Actually, Amazon carries it and you can have it delivered regularly. This product is fabulous! I use a mix of half water with half Alkalol. Use it in a nasal douche or netti pot, gargle with it. It clears everything out. It is a mucus solvent. I h ave even bought a nasal spray bottle from Amazon and I fill it with half alkalol and half water. I can use it as a nasal spray that clears up my passages without harsh chemicals. This is a Eucalyptus based product. Good luck and feel free to ask questions. This will make you feel like a new person.

Either coughing or blowing yellow is a sign of an exacerbation. Pollen can set off an exacerbation; many of us take a variety of allergy remedies to try to avoid that.
