SSKI is potassium iodide its an old treatment to break up mucus a couple of drops (need prescription) in8oz glass of water or juice. Suppose to work well and relatively quickly Can only use for short period of time because you can develop iodine poisoning. Anyone ever heard or used this All ears DAH
@A MyCOPDTeam Member , Sorry i can not answer your question but I never heard of the drops either. Perhaps the pharmacist can answer it or ask the doctor. I would like to know more about it too . Right now I use Mucinex twice a day and it works well for me .
Breathe easy .
SSKI needs doctors prescription When I looked it up it says if your doctor or phamacist is under 60yrs old they probably never head of this but its suppose to work much better than Musinex and 5x cheaper
Most welcome! Hope you have good luck with it! Recommended to me by a very old ENT specialist !
Get ALKALOL at a pharmacy or order it from Amazon. It is a mucus solvent. You can use it as often as you like. Gargle with it and half water. It's like magic! You will never regret it. Can also be used with a netti pot or a nasal douche. I recently wrote a long blurb on it here but cannot locate it now. If anyone comes across it, please post it for everyone, it is an unbelievable asset for us with COPD. Google it !
There are generic brands of Musinex at Kroger chain of store with the exact chemical formula for 1/3 the price FYI DAH
