You will be a lot better off if you can quit before you have to. I couldn't and didn't, one of my regrets in life. Just keep trying, get all the help you can get.....patches, anxiety meds hard tack candy , ect. I quit three years ago, because I couldn't breath. Now I have extra money, smell better and breathe easier. Take your time..be good to yourself...keep trying......you will be so much better off.....I will be pulling for you..

I smoked for over 50 yrs... one pack a day. I was on COPD inhalers since 2008, and still smoked but was able to do physical activity and manual labor .. picking up wood .. loading stove, etc... lots of other actvities. In December I ended in the hospital as used Ventolin and I could not handle it .. made me shake ...horrible. Was in for about 10 das...and when released I was on the same inhalers as before .. however, unable to perform the same tasks as before. My activity was very limited as unable to breathe very well. Had to take it easy .. Now 8 mons down the road .. have done pursive breathing ... and my inhalers. Now I have Bricanyl as a rescue that is way better for me. But .... Now when I think of a cigarette .. do I WANT TO SUBJECT MYSELF to TRY TO BREATHE???? Gasp for Breath???? or do I want to take my inhalers that help keep my breathing pretty stable now. We CAN:T have it BOTH WAYS .. Either you QUIT and enjoy the time you can breathe .. or DO NOT QUIT .. UP TO YOU .. but when you can't breathe .. THINK ABOUT IT..

I got the patch .. but after about three weeks did not even use it .. I also got the Nicorettes .. used one .. and just did not think about the cigarettes. As far as candy etc .. to me that is just another CRUTCH ..so you don't smoke, but suck on candy. Whatever you choose to STOP is up to you. But .. I like being able to breathe ...What a good feeling.

Check around,..if you are in an area that allows medical marijuana,...get some fresh bud or leaves,..and EAT it,...not smoke,...liquidise with yoghurt,...check internet for Sacred Plant,.......Regards

Plus ... once you quit the cigarettes .. your lungs begin to heal. Believe me .. I NEVER thought for one minute that I would be able to continue a life without cigarettes. But ... you must DISCIPLINE YOURSELF ... Tell yourself your a big girl now ...and you can do it. If you don't want to do it for yourself .. DO IT FOR THE PEOPLE that never thought you could quit. Show them ...hey, I can do it ...and I WILL .. Come and join the team of NON SMOKERS ... BE ONE OF US ..and BREATHE with us.
