I try to walk for at least 30 to 60 mins a day, can't really measure miles because I have to take breaks some times. Usually if it is hot and humid or really cold

I a few months back was unable to walk farther than maybe 10ft. and be out of breath. Dr. told me to place chairs around home .. SIT down when out of breath .. do pursive breathing until able to continue. Sure it was heartbreaking .. wondering if I would EVER be able to progress.

Well, not sure the answers here. As we ALL know .. what works for one does not work for another. We all have the same issues ..breathing. BUT ..WHY .. I have had allergies for 65 yrs. to feathers and dust. Try to get away from dust. I do not take meds for it .. just continue along with the days and changed from feather pillow to foam. NOW How Many of YOU may have an ALLERGY that you are not aware of???? There are some that are mild ..some more severe. Sometimes it does not affect all the time . then sometimes it does affect with addition of another. So .. you maybe allergic to chicken .. no problem .. but also a veggie .. no problem, but if you eat them at the same meal .BINGO problems.

So .. I was given a new RESCUE inhaler BRICANYL .. which to me personally is way better for me than Ventolin. Now what I was told .. USE it whether I feel I need it or not. This opens up the airways .. so what I have been doing is this. I keep my o2% meter with me at all times. I check upon awakening .. and if it is under 90% I inhale and instantly it brings it up a few % or more. THEN .. after that is WHEN I inhale my daily meds. Sprivia Respimat and Advair. I keep my % monitored during the day . and if active .. take a few inhales.

I do not know if it is the fact of opening in the morning the airways or what .. but since I have been doing this I can breathe a whole lot better. I do not have anymore mucus build up .. as I also take Montelukast and also Claritin for Allergies and Sinus. One is a Histamine and one is an Antihistamine .. This was suggested by my pharmacist as was getting a lot of THICK mucus in mouth .. NO MORE NOW. I also used to gargle with water to eliminate some of the mucus in the throat and mouth. Still gagle every now and then to keep tings clear.

I have been able to walk farther distances, even got to go to a store that I have not been wandering around for years. Do the pursive breathing when walking .. and keep the pace slowed down. My resp nurse asked if I always walk fast .. never realized that I did that .. but try to slow down a bit.

So ... nothing is a MIRACLE. But .. the Pursive breathing is top notch for helping to get breathing in order. Do it when walking all the time .. helps for sure. Eating very LARGE Meals .. also does not help as pushes on the diaphram and slows the breathing .. eat more smaller meals.PD ..

Good Luck to All ..
