I am in between insurance right now and last month I paid full price for my prescriptions. This month the pharmacy tells me my doc refused to refill until I come in to the office. HELLO.....it's either doc visit or meds........can't afford both! And why do they INSIST on seeing me every 2-3 months when NOTHING has changed in the past year? It's not like she does pulmonary testing or anything. Just the regular blood pressure and oxy meter reading. I can do that at home! Just feeling frustrated… read more
It's too expensive for doctors and medications.
Have you talked to your dr. and explained the insurance problem? Most careing dr. will work with you. My dr. did. Once they realize you need the medicine yet, they need to see you more often also, they can either give you coupons for the medicine or samples so, you don't have to purchase the medicine. Another way is once they realize your problem like the man above said. If they have a nurse practioner in their office they can let you see her/him and not charge so, much. The main thing is talk. See if there is a way the two of you can work something out together.
yea I have 5 drs I see one every 6 months one every 4 months and 3 once a year with even with insurance it can get pricy all the same way got to see them for refills but mine write my prescripts for a year at a time
@A MyCOPDTeam Member, I understand how you feel about the doctors giving you more meds but you have to go see them to get more, when everything is the same. well they don't know that, and in order to give us the meds. they have to see us to know, I use to get upset with that also, but then it clicked, plus during this time I've gotten more questions for the doctors, so I can ask my questions. so sorry it has to be either see the doctor or get meds. the system should not work this way.
Because of the drugs I am on, the state requires me to see my GP every 2 months. Now that I am in final stages of COPD I have to see my Pulmonologist every 6 months now.
