Rain Out. Do Any Of You Have Rain Out In Your O2 Tubing?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I live in Tennessee and the weather changes often. So the Fall is really hard with rain out in my O2 tubing. The weather is warm one day, then cold the next day so the floor never really gets warm. My supply company gave me water traps but they do not help. I have read somewhere to keep your tubing on rugs and away from hardwood floors.

I have tracheal stenosis too with a trach so I have to sleep in my recliner because I cannot lay flat. Last night I draped my tubing all around the couch… read more

Rain out is when the water that you put in the bottle for the humidifier comes back up in the tubes I have found putting on to 25 Footers with the swivel seems to stop that I don't know why but it works and I only put maybe two inches of water in the bottle because my company said if you go more than that or if you could even go a half a bottle it starts going back up into the tube I hope this helps you God bless and breathe easy

OK Diamond, that is my next step to try to stop this rain out, only two inches of water. I will keep you posted. Thanks

I use two 25 footers already and still cannot get the "rain out" controlled. UGH. So now I have a routine added to my already heavy morning routine. I change my tubing and put the rain out'd tubing on my neb to blow out the water. Crazy....Guess I will have to cont to do that until the floors catch up to the warmth!!!

Yes I have that every once in awhile and I change the tubing because of that water stays in there and get stagnant and you can get an infection I don't know what causes it or why it happens but the same thing I live in a very humid area I live in the valley so you're very right that could be at the flooring never gets warm enough I also live in a mobile home so but the water traps don't work but what I did find does work better is if I take two 25 Footers and put them together then I don't seem to have that problem I should have said that in the beginning the 50 Foot hoses sometimes just maintain way too much moisture give it a try call your company and ask him for the 25 Footers plus you'll need to swivels tell him swivels so you can connect them and they'll move a lot easier to you won't get so tangled up God bless and breathe easy let me know how you do
