COPD And Sex
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Don't think I've seen a question about this since I joined. Do people with COPD still have a sex life? How do you manage the shortness of breath?

Well, if I had a significant other in my life, I don't think it would stop me. I have to be on oxygen 24/7 so the biggest issue is not getting tangled up with the tubing!! I need to find me a man who has the same disease....would eliminate the need to questions and "what ifs"....

Good question though. In Pulmonary Rehab it was discussed and most people just do what works best for them. No reason to give up a sex life....it's part of life!!

Well I never. I am glad that you found this site. I know by the change in your attitude since the first time that it has done you a great amount of good. Just be careful and know the ones that truly are here to help one another and the few that are here for their own purpose. Your doing fine, that's my girl, well I didn't mean that you where my girl girl I meant you know, that I like it as far as you came from that little mouse that first time. May God bless. Take care. You'll love this one. Hey no dying on me, promise!??🤔

Pamela, thanks for all the looked you have to me recently. U appreciate it. But you know it's never about me. If I can have only one person smile or realize we are not doomed. The is always a way, I am not even going to call it hope, that's something you wish for. Ours is something we can do. With friends like we have on here and the sharing of information someone not medical will come up with a simple answer cause I am baffled. Can do brain surgery but invigorate some cells. really?? Hey take care. Whenever you get down, think of something positive it's always there. Trust me I am no different then many in here, probably worst of, not physically or emotionally. May God Bless 🦃

Hi . Yes you can have a fairly good sex life . I went to a copd nurse and asked the same question . I was advised to lay on the side to do it . Has its not so tiring and its easier to breath .
