I've been recently diagnosed with COPD but in our governments Infinite Wisdom as soon as I got approved for Social Security disability they canceled my Medicaid Health Insurance.
That does not sound right. I had to be on SS for 3 months then they changed it to SSD. I never lost health coverage. I would call SS every day and ask where are you suppose to go to get medicine. Then start asking for supervisors............remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease!! Good Luck to you!!! let us know what they say
I agree with LouRay. Although, it may take some paper work and phone calls, you must not give up. I went a long time with no medical ins., but being persistant paid off . I now can see a Dr. and recieve meds. that were not affordable to me. Do Not Give UP! Good Luck and feel better.
Yea I think he is right isn't the reason you have SSD is because of being sick and disabled... That should qualify you for Medicare automatically...I would get down to the bottom and go to them as and complain.... There is no way you can afford it on your income...
If at all possible go on line to make apt at your local SS office and get the facts in person face to face
Once on disability i haf to wait 24 months for medicare this is in florida
