Supposedly they process the blood and then use the plasma from it & reintroduce it to the lungs thru a nebulizer. The richness is said to help injured lungs recover from infections, etc. Not a cure but an aid. But yes please talk to Dr about anything you don't understand. And as often as you need to hear it. He's working for you so make him earn his pay !

It's what @A MyCOPDTeam Member, said. I asked my uncle when I could, he was so sob he couldn't tell me but the same as Ann and where he's had an infection in his lungs for a month and can't get rid of it the Dr. was going to try it, to get rid of the infection.

Platelets are taken from your blood and added to your next blood draw for a stronger platelet count. Then inserted by a needle into the area needing the treatment. I think it is still being experimented with and it's usually for arthritis in joints. I don't know anything about lung treatment. If they could insert it in the bad spots on our lungs maybe it would get the cells to reproducing.
