I'm using a flutter device called Aerobika. My pulmonologist preferred it and ordered it. It works by creating a vibration in the lungs that help bring up phlegm. When you blow into it there's a resistance and a choice meter indicating how much resistance. Too much gives you a headache. But it works right away and then more will come for awhile. It penetrates areas of emphazema. So it helps to prevent infection. There's a video through MyCOPD that explains it. I then asked my pulmonologist about it and she said it works with people who have phlegm production.

my Dr. suggested using a flutter valve to loosen phlegm in the lungs. Tried it. did not notice any improvement.
