I used Canada drugs for several years because they saved me about %50 on my drugs (Spiriva and Advair) now the U.S. Justice department stopped that and now Spiriva is no allowed by medicare, what is a good alternative?
I went through a slew of doctors till I finally got a great dr. I can trust. He takes time to answer my questions and I usually have lots of them. We don't always agree especially if I find conflicting views from my research. However my dr. and I respect each other with a right to our views. I research everything using my selective trusting sites. There are bad web sites that can mess you up with lies and try to get you to buy their expensive products. It's a crime. People fall for it and ttheir health suffers. Only site I trust is Mayo Clinic. A lot of the medical sites get a kickback for pushing products that are no good. For diet I trust only Tufts. They have a great newsletter worth subscribing to for getting helpful information. Bottom line is Exercise is the most important thing one can do for their health. I started out exercising when I did not feel good. I persisted and worked my way up. I eat the right kind of foods according to Tiufts. I have a fairly decent quality of life resulting from all this. Had I listenened to the nay sayers telling me COPD only gets worse and did nothing but wait for that to happen I could not write this message to you.

My insurance does not pay for Symbcort and it worked for me
I have used Duoneb (combivent) for a number of years. Works great for me. Pulmonologist at first put me on Spiriiva and I think I tried Advair. ˇThese meds caused me lots of problems and bad side effects. Did nothing to help me. Drs. were upset with me for not continuing with their recommendations. Thank God, I listened to my body. Doing fine with the results I get. Take oxygen 2 milgrams (or is it mililiters?) only at night and I'm not sure I even need that. At first I was told I had severe COPD. Not sure of this either. Drs. always push drugs that mask side effects but cure nothing. I know Duoneb is a drug too but it does the job for me. Take it only when I'm real short of breath. Also use Ventolin HFA if I needa little help after using the Duoneb.
I'll add another thing. I used CPAP for 10 years at a low pressure. Did fine on this amount after struggling to get use to it. I had quit smoking for 3 years. felt great. I was due for another CPAP machine and so I went for an over night to the sleep center. The result was they put me on a high pressure. I reacted terrible and the pulmonologist ignored me. I was suffering and next thing I knew my lungs blew up and I lost control of my bowels. Got no help from pulmonologists. The result of this high pressure caused me COPD. I've read that others who never smoked but used a high pressure CPAP also got COPD. Believe what you want cause anyone who works with CPAPs denies this could happen. Also caused me to be on Prednisone which is not a good med to be on.
