Dating And Relationships. Is There A COPD Dating Web Site Out There? (Kidding About The Web Site :)that.)

Here's a subject I have not seen yet...Dating. Do you, and how do you explain to someone your condition? Has anyone been in a relationship after being on O2?

It's been 14 years since i've been in a relationsip. More to do with having had breast cancer in 2007 than from having COPD. Now it's the COPD and not being able to breathe or keep up with anyone my age (64). I felt that if I were to be with someone they would, first, have to be the right one, I would rather be alone than be with the wrong person, been there, done that, too many times. Second, it would have to be someone older, or so I thought. About 8 months ago, I told God that I was ready to love again. Didn't think about it again and lo and behold, the right one came into my life and I have never been so happy, never have I been treated with so much love and care than I am with this person. We met on facebook, go figure. God is so good to me. This man ticked all of the boxes for me.

I question about the dating as well. God will send me the right man meant for me, at the right time.

Many people have relationships, dating, sexual and companionship, plus probably some I haven't thought about. I don't know of any sites that cater to folks with medical conditions, but there may be some. As for explanations, you can simply say that you use O2, see what happens and if it's appropriate tell your story when you meet face to face. Or don't say that in your profile, but say you do when you have that first phone call. Clearly you need to say you use it before you meet the person face to face, but you're under no obligation to say why until you think you want to.

As for what you tell them, that's up to you. You can tell them as little or as much as you want. I use O2 a lot in public and I rarely get a reaction that's not positive. I would be very matter of fact about what you tell them and recognize that you're educating them. All the drama associated with it can wait for an appropriate time and place.

Yes there should be a dating site even if your only looking for companionship we all nèd a little affection and some want more and it's just a natural part of being human and if it develops into love or whatever there's ways to discuss what you need or want go for it if you find the right person they'll understand if they don't then that's their problem!

It's good to see others talking of dating, it would be nice to meet someone, I have severe emphysema but would like the intimacy of what I used to have😀
