I am on prednisone tapers at least once a month. And lately it is progressing.i AM Now on my third step down. I have so many allergies, this is all that helps, but the side effects are not so good. No Dr, has offered anything to ease the side effects., mine is weight gain and bloating, and lack of sleep. But my Dr did give me alprazalom to help with that. and it does work. I am looking forward to quiting totally(smoking that is) so never have to take this drug again. But I am thankful it works.I hope it is working for you, and all of you wonderful people are in my prayers !

I take 5mg prednisone every day. Have been taking it for about 5 months. Before that I was on 20mg. I'll probably be on it forever. It helps me breathe. I have no side effects. Everybodys different so check withyour Dr. Feel better

Got down to 1 mg/day for the last 21 days, off for 3 days now & ok so far.

I have gone from 60 mg (after hospital stay) 5 months ago to 2 mg & 1 mg; sometimes I have to bump it back to 2 mg but then back to 1 mg. Who knew that little amount makes such a difference?? But I can tell by my breathing (or lack of). I hate the side effects too - especially the thin skin w/purple marks on my forearms & legs. Doc says add more vitamin C to help. Any other suggestions?
