I heard that some group in the UK was doing some research on cell regeneration using Vit A. Anyone else hear anything?
I heard there was an element in Vit A that grew back the hair like things in our lungs based on experiments in mice. If we could regrow these our lung volume would improve. Heard there was a lab in Texas that was also looking into this.
Yes it is, but there's no evidence that it works. There are places all over the US that will be glad to take your stem cells, rework them and then inject them into your lungs. It costs between $7000 and $15000 for each treatment and it isn't approved by the FDA, nor will any insurance cover it. As I said before, there's no evidence that it works. If you ask for clinical, scientific evidence like improvement in FEV1, using less O2, walking further in six minutes, using fewer meds, or even a better quality of life, they get very quiet and can't produce any.
The will tell you they're participating in clinical trials, but it's only to demonstrate that the process is safe for humans. And no legitimate clinical trial anywhere makes you pay dearly for the privilege of being the guinea pig. Don't waste your money. Go on a good diet and lose some weight and start an exercise program; you'll feel a lot better and breathe better, too.
I know I didn't address your question, but I did answer the question prior. Most of the threads get "hijacked" on this forum........
To answer your questions, the Vitamin A study was demonstrably not a good one, and had no impact on COPD in humans.
Thank you I didn't know how they work I do know I can't afford them. Have a blessed day
@A MyCOPDTeam Member The Lung Institute takes a lot of your money to add something to your blood that they can not prove works to regenerate or repair human lungs.
