does anyone out there have groundglass nodules in their lungs, if so what has your lung dr recommended, how long have you had them, are they still soft,or have they calified and if so how long did it take
I wrote a short note on the team page (I think) but to answer your question. None of the above are in my lungs. I had never heard of this so looked it up and will print out and read up on it. I am very interested and will be looking forward to your doctor's comments tomorrow. Thoughts and prayers with you. Do take care. Hugs.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member yes the lung reduction, did help a lot, I can do more then I could before, I was at 21% fev1 and when to 36% fev1, , but others on here have gained much more, its only been about a yr, but still having seavere pain on 1 side, but not the other, the first one, they did a epurdule, and a nevere block, and everything on that side is fine, the other side they only did a epidural, and that's the side with issues, but yes I would do it again, the success rate is very high, and now these are extending your life upwards of 10 years without issues
I had a ct scan done in 4/18 at duke and it showed the groundglass, then in 6/18 different location, didn't show one, then now its shows a groundglass nodule and has growth since 4/18 and is expect to grow more, the issue is my lung thinks it coming and going, so he wants to wait 6months to see if its calcify on its own, if its doenst then a pet scan and biopsy, he says that 80% of the groundglass nodules give a false positive for cancer, but I also had lung volume reduction, in 4/18 at duke and they remove 4 calify nodules, and I ground glass that contained to small nodules that were cancous, plus it also contained a slow flesh eating bactria, and 1 other, thing, but the did alsortas of test afterwards and it showed they got it all, so i'm completely losted
I remember the Dr. saying this showed up on my tests but I have G.M.P. vasculitis which can cause bleeding in the lungs...I think it is a term to describe what they are seeing, not really anything to do with glass....
