Hi All, Does Anyone Else Suffer With Nausea?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Could it perhaps be the medication I am taking? Furosemide 40mg, Theophylline anhydrous 200, as well as inhalers, Asthavent and Seretide.

I was in hospital a couple of weeks ago, where they found that my blood sugar was a bit high. Could my blood sugar levels be affected by any of these medications?

Thank you so much,

Lynette xxxx

I have been Theophylline for over two years with no side effects at all. And I haven't had an exacerbation and I have absolutely no mucus. I am amazed as is my pulmo. But he is happy about it. I think certain people are allergic to certain drugs. I know I have a list, everyone should make a list of things that make them "sick".

Talk with your doc or pharmacist regarding what might affect your blood sugar. I would say no, none of these should cause your blood sugar to rise, but I'm not a doc. You could also check with your pharmacist.

I take Furosemide and it does not make me nauseous. Ask your doctor about the others to see what the side effects are...could be you need to eat at certain times to help with the nausea and medication. For instance, I can't take any vitamin on an empty stomach or I will get sick (vomit) within a very short time.....almost like clockwork. I always eat with medications that say take with a meal or food.

I noticed you mentioned nausea. When I was on Theophylline I was very nauseous. Eating when I took it did not help, I called my doctor and he set a dosage that would let me gradually build up to my max dosage. Call your doctor.
