The following article should be required reading for everyone with COPD and their families.

I read this article too, and the part that meant the most to me was that it's a mental issue as well as a physical issue. If you haven't been hit between the eyes with news of a serious chronic illness that's particularly nasty, you don't know how it feels. It's terrifying, and I think some doctors could use a bit more education on how to handle the shock we patients feel right then. That's why the author was correct in saying, Get into a good support group.
Also, I would say, when you see others in a wheel chair or with a tube in their face, don't stare, but smile briefly. They always smile back.
Jean, you are a wonderful resource for this group. Thank you for the informative article. We are lucky to have you. Do you have COPD as well?
Just r4ead half of it, will read the rest tomorrow , but what I have read is so, true, For myself I find it easier if I just work on one day at a time, yes indeed it is a mental issue as well. some days more so. . very great article and thanks for sharing. Blessings
Thank you for that information Jean. I live with 5 of them and at 78, I think I've done pretty good so far. I do find the IBD to be the most troublesome since it is the one thing I find the hardest to deal with. I take two meds a day to keep it somewhat in check. I don't take anything for diarrhea of the mouth, that helps keep me mentally up and helps me to socialize. No, I don't run around saying, "The sky is falling," but some days it seems that way. I just want to mention that the article is longer than you think folks, they insert so many adds in between paragraphs and you think you have been left hanging, but keep on and you'll get the entire article. It's a wonderfully informative article that all of us should read.
Hello i thank you so much for this articles 😘😘😘
