I had to use my Nebulizer during the night. When I got up chest felt a lot of pressure, breathing was quite difficult, I'm wheezing a lot, coughing often but not bringing much up. I used my Advair and Spiriva, then the nebulizer. Every 5 minutes or so I have a coughing spell sometimes I bring up a little mucus. I feel like breathing irritates my upper chest and makes me cough. I'm also feeling weak. My pulmonologist is away. Should I go to Walk in Care? I'm worried that tomorrow morning will be… read more
Hi @A MyCOPDTeam Member .. Trust your instincts - If your doctor has an on call doctor I'd call his office ... If not then go to the walk-in ... Better safe than sorry. Get better...♥
I would like to hear and see more of this type of action. Docs hate it when a person advocates for himself/herself, but that is the only way to go today. And, we don't need to take every pill the doc feels is good for us. I have gotten stung a few times doing this.
Check with your GP MD, for (s)he may have a more liberal appointment policy. Don't rule out an ER visit. Mucinex is a great OTC pill for expelling mucus from your lungs; generic versions exist at Dollar Stores! Make sure you don't run out of rescue inhaler or albuterol for your nebulizer!!!
Go seek care, nowadays you almost have to overreact to get them to understand our problems. Check for fever, if any at all go to ER walk in care probably can't handel our kind of situations. Hoping for the best. 💕
I too research as much as much as possible. My present Primary Care seems to not like that. I'm on the waiting list with another group. Last time I had a flare up my Primary insisted that I had a virus. I've had enough flare ups to know when I'm having one. Especially after my last one. With the encouragement I received here and listening to my inner voice I've learned a lot.
