M new ling DR gave me samples of Anoro. I use a nebulizer with atrovent and albuterol and I didn't feel they worked very well with Anoro. So the nurse sent me sample of Bevespi which seemed real good until I used the nebulizer. So I went back to Breo. When I saw the Dr I told him that the neb meds made me out of breath. So he told me not to use Anoro or Bevespi or Breo just to use the dual neb. Since he was not prescribing any other maintenance inhaler, I asked him to put me on Symbicort, which… read more
Thanks RolandL, Jean and 109876at for all the good advice. I will see doctor next Wednesday and hope for some new meds. I really want off the nebulizer. For years I used Symbicort with combivent inhaler and when a new doctor put me on the nebulizer in 2013 with duo(combivent) I never really noticed a big difference. We shall see. This dr doesn't really know me and just wanted to keep me on the neb and nothing else! Hugs to each of you!
The duoneb is equivalent to Combivent. Same meds, just different delivery system. Anoro and Bevespi are both combinations of LABA and LAMA. There are nebulized versions of both, but separately nebulized: formoterol fumarate is a LABA that can be nebulized, and Yupelri is a LAMA.
Roland, it's generally recommended that you not take more than one LABA, LAMA or ICS, whether in combination (like Trelegy) or separately. Sometimes a nebulized version of meds is prescribed because the patient doesn't have the capability of inhaling with enough strength to get the med where it needs to be in the lungs.
I use Anoro first thing every day with no nebulizer. I blow out as hard and long as I can then take a very deep breath using my stomach mussels hold it for 10 seconds or as long as I can. Been doing this for three years now and think it is helping me. I think using my stomach musselas to get my diaphram involved in my breathing is very helpful. Have you tried any thing like this sometimes we have to try things on our own and then tell our doctors how we are doing.
