Deviated Septum Affect On COPD
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Deviated septum (one nostril often blocked) has been a lifetime annoyance, but since severe COPD it's a torture. Anyone have answers on how to deal with it, other than surgery?

I boil water and add sea salt. Then breathe in the steam it seems to help my sinuses and breathing. I do once a day usually in yhe morninds when it is at its worse..

Surgery is not too bad of an options. I had the surgery 30 some years ago. Only discomfort I had was when they removed the packing (gauze), and 24 hours having to breathe only through my mouth.

I use a saline nasal rinse every day to help with my sinuses. Sometimes I do it 2 or 3 times a day. It really helps. It is OTC. I also see a ENT and allergist.
