Unless you want to get it, yes you should do what you can to avoid being exposed to the virus. Back in March, the general consensus was that because Covid 19 attacks the lungs, people with lung disease: COPD, cancer, sarcoidosis, LAM and all sorts of other lung diseases would be more at risk than the general population. Now we know that people with lung disease are no more susceptible to getting the virus than other people in their age groups. The two things that seem to make a difference in what happens IF YOU DO get the virus are how old you are and how many co-morbidities you have. Any chronic condition counts as a co-morbidity, but what's critical is now many you have, and to some extent, what they are. We know that obesity and diabetes are two that make you more likely to develop complications if you do get the virus.
So you should take precautions if you're going to do things that are somewhat risky, such as getting your hair cut, going to a bar or restaurant, going to the doctor, going to the grocery store, etc.
