I am currently being assessed for a double lung transplant and would love to chat with others that are being assessed and anyone who has had a transplant. I live in Ontario, Canada and would like to know what anti rejection drugs ARE NOT covered by OHIP. I also have many questions about the entire process that would be best answered by a patient.
I have just found a Facebook group which i have requested to join... maybe i'll have better luck there. All the best to you as well.
good luck peter...
Hello my name is Jeff and I am a double lung transplant survivor. I had End COPD with only 12% breathing capacity and carried O2 for over 8yrs.
My advice is to get into a COPD program in your area to stay active. The Ontario exercise program is demanding but helps on the other end with recovery. So get started taking small progress and build each day! You will be surprised how quickly your body responds and will help your breathing!
Good luck and breathe free my friend.
I’m just starting the process. My problem is more emphysema than the COPD. I been informed of all the testing which I’m just starting then wait to be approved at UCSF. Once done after acceptance. It’s a 3 month recovery to start. Then alot of medicine which I do now. The whole thing boils down to it’s my only option left with only 11% of my lung able to absorb oxygen into my blood
ok good to know
