A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

My husband was recently diagnosed with COPD. He was prescribed with therapy because he coughed and had wheezing when breathing. He's much better now, but no one explained whether he should take any medication or not when his condition is stable. He used inhalers and antibiotics and he finished the therapy

I think you need to get the results of his spirometry or Pulmonary Function Test so you know what you're dealing with. If his condition is very mild, it may be managed and controlled with no meds, but with exercise and diet. If it's moderate to severe, there certainly are meds that are generally considered to be best practice and prescribed regularly, at least in the US. The UK operates a little differently, but the British Lung Association ought to be able to provide some guidance.

I would imagine if they were worried of the severity of his copd they would have assigned him a respirologist for testing. If he's concerned, his general dr can always give him a referral. Huggs
