is anybody else having/had this problem or know the answer. Ive got a few questions regarding my COPD condition and i dont know which doctor im supposed to ask. cause a few months ago i had asked my lung doctor over the phone about getting a letter/note stating the level of my condition, due to my condition if im employable or not,. you know just information like that and he stated for me to go to my family doctor ask him to refer me to get an xray on my lungs and ask him what he thinks cause… read more

If you take personal issues to these guys, they will refer you to psychiatrist or a counselor. Not sure what you wanted the letter for but if it is for disability, maybe you should call them to see what they need.

Your pulmonologists knows more than your regular doctor on this...that was not nice of him...call him again and insist.

Agree with Roland and Jean. Fought with a lawyer, 4 of them, and disability to get his years back. You cannot start a claim after age 65 unless this has changed. So, I did't get it but continue to work from my home p.t.

Many insurance companies like mine, don't require a referral any longer. You also should have a choice in a doctor you personally research. Not all docs are good , and they even get referred. You don't need a letter for this; your doc will merely do what is necessary if you tell her what you need. Again, it is best to do some research on docs in your area. I had bad luck with this until I started to investigate. Ask others where they go. Hope this helps.

I have to go to my Dr. as my breathing Dr. is a specialist and I can't see him without a referral from my family Dr. breath easy
