Daliresp is used for people who have many exacerbations because of the anti-inflammatory properties it has. People who have exacerbations every two months go for a year without one. There are two doses; usually the 250 mg dose is prescribed for a month or two and then the 500 mg dose is introduced. That helps most people get used to the med without the difficult adjustment. It's too bad your pulmonologist didn't prescribe it that way, but I'm glad it's working for you now. It can make a major difference and actually allow people to get well enough to begin exercising and taking control of their COPD.
I take Daliresp 500mg every morning. My pulmonologist told me that I might not be able to take because some people can not handle it. I took it the first time for 3 days it was rough so I stopped it. Then a month later I saw my primary doctor and he saw how I was breathing and phoned my pulmonologist to send in a new prescription for Daliresp he did not tell me he did it. I got it in the mail from my pharmacy.. so I tried it again and this time it did not bother me. Wow what a difference in my breathing. I could not go a day with out it now. So yes it does help.
