Hi Larry. There are several of these new medicines shown on TV which offer some relief for Asthma conditions also. It seems the meds were developed to cure things like skin excema and RA but target the same inflammatory proteins in the Body which aggrevate asthma also.
You don't say if smoking played a part in your path to COPD but that's OK to be private about it.
Since the suggestion for Theo-24 came from your Lung doctor, you may want to give that a try first. Theophylline is a older and proven medication to open breathing passages for asthma and COPD with wheezing. It comes in a liquid form too, which is easier to tolerate for the stomach issues this med can cause.
The testing for the Antibody shots seems simple but the $hots are not cheap.! See here: https://www.fiercepharma.com/sales-and-marketin...
Your insurance company will be driving the Bus on the new treatment plan so don't be surprised if you end up back at the starting line considering other alternatives.
Take care.

Unless you've been hospitalized, you might want to give the azithro time to work. If you have another exacerbation within the next six months, you might want to try the nucala. If you start the nucala now and things get better, you won't know which of the two interventions worked. Just my thought. I just want my experiments to be discrete so I know what works and don't have to guess.

I think I'd ask for a second opinion with a pulmonologist from a different practice. If you've been hospitalized for four COPD exacerbations over the last year, there are other treatments that might work better. One is Daliresp and the other is azithromycin taken three times a week or even daily for a period of time. Before I'd try the shots I'd want to be sure that your problem is asthma and not COPD, and that you're going to a doc who is a specialist in eosinophilic asthma.

Just googled it and is this the type of asthma you have eosinophils? @A MyCOPDTeam Member
