Im on 3L continuous so only the Sequal Eclipse can provide that. Its on a rolling cart but still quite heavy and only has about an hour of battery at 3L. Pretty worthless if i want to go anywhere
Im thinking tanks might be easier and certainly last longer when im out and about. My oxygen company wont let me have both the POC and tanks. I have to choose. The POC is great for my 15 hour drives to vidit family as i plug it into ghe car lighter. And it can act as a stationary concentrator when⦠read more
Jean--I d have it on pulse when I am driving. My tanks are also on pulse. I'm going to have to start continuous soon. Pulse isn't enough if I'm walking anywhere. I have the choice on my regulator. I also have a gold regulator that is only continuous. My supplier let me have both tanks and POC. Because of my travels to my daughters place. I do 5 or 6 trips from May to October. I thank God he was with me on my last trip. Something told me to put a couple of the tanks in the back seat instead of the trunk. About half way the charger in my car quit. I didn't notice until I was running out of air. By the time I could stop I was pretty much done in. I got the tank out of the back seat finally but it was touch and go. Amazing how fast we go down when we panic and thats what I had done. Scary. I know that if I hadn't panicked everything would have been easier. Enough now!!! I'll let you go for now. Thank you Jean
Medicare and Medicaid rules with the DMEs (the companies that supply the O2 devices) say that they have to give you something for use at home, and something for out and about. For out and about you can have tanks or a POC, but you can't have both. They are also not obliged to give you anything for when you are actually traveling. Usually they will provide tanks, but not a POC and tanks. You do have to choose which device will work best for you most of the time. One thing your provider is also obligated to do is to provide you with an overnight source of O2 when you travel. You need to choose the device that will do the most for you, and if those 15 hours drives are a regular thing, that POC might be the best. The other possibility is to buy your own POC and expect your provider to give you a concentrator and tanks when you travel.
Cujojo, the POC the poster has is one of the few that will go above 2 LPM continuous; that's why she can use it for over night when she travels.
Get a different condenser. I had a couple of portables that would last alot longer than that. What number do have it on? I'm on tanks now. None of the portables go high enough. When I drive to see my 6 hours to see my daughter I can use a portable because i am just sitting. Thats strange they won't let you have both. Maybe tell them you have travel and a portable is alot more convenient!!! My tanks come in 4 different sizes. My favorite is just little and sits in a type of knapsack. It lasts about 3 to 4 hours and I have it on 6. It doesn't come with a extra batteries. Another one I have for driving comes with 2 batteries. Hope this helps you.πΊ
Cujojo yes once we need continuous versus pulse, our options are more limited.
