Hi to all you brave and wonderful friends
Just wondering your thoughts on why I cough up so much mucus during the day but it seems to subside late afternoon and at night, As always thanks so much for your info and friendship.
Mucus doesn't tend to move while you sleep, but gathers, so many people spend a good part of their morning doing a variety of things designed to get the mucus up and out: mucinex, nebulized albuterol and saline solution, use of devices like acapella or aerobika, huff coughing, using various percussion techniques including percussion vests, postural drainage, just to name a few things people use.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member. Hi there young lady. I see you are in a bad way and in a funk. I just came out of one on Thursday. All day Wednesday was crappy, I had a really good "pity party" for myself and now I'm good to go again. We need this every so often. I have no idea what stage I am, I just know I was diagnosed in 2001 with Emphysema. I smoked 50 cigs a day for 40 years or so and quit cold turkey, for myself but was diagnosed after that. On O2 24/7 at 2.5 ltrs. and I'm hanging in there. Good days & bad. Just very grateful to be alive and on this side of the grass. Thank you God. Just remember, it could always be worse. You could be totally able to breath but paralyzed, right?
Hi Quilts, I can't speak for all but as for me I found that it was in my diet, certain foods will really cause more mucus more often, I still have trouble but not like I use too. I eat more fish, shrimp blueberries, chicken I watch what veggies I eat and starchy foods like pastas no bread most of the time, I make open face as I call it, I put my food on my plate like I would a sandwich and use my fork.
I take mucenix twice a day and allergy meds.
I try to stay away from dairy, this give me mucus.
Right thanks
