Salbutamol, like albuterol and all its cousins, is a rescue medication and is t usually prescribed as needed, with a maximum dosage of no more than two puffs four times a day. You're not doing anything wrong, but you are using it more than it was prescribed. I would talk with the doc about this. If this is the only med you're taking, you may need to start a maintenance med as well. If you're not seeing a pulmonologist, you need to see one. You need to be seeing a doc who understands the medications available and prescribes ones that are right for you.

Good advice @A MyCOPDTeam Member! I take Advair inhaler in AM and Spireva in afternoon as well have the rescue inhaler(Proair) and have been doing pretty well and rarely use the proair unless working or exercising. Take care and thanks for your advice!๐Ÿ˜€
