This is probably going to be the first of many questions so please bare with me…. This annoying tickle in my throat can only be described as a ‘feather’ in the throat that leads to an uncontrollable coughing fit, can anyone tell me is this part of copd, if so, can anything be done about it, it can be so embarrassing when im out. I do obviously cough ‘normally’ to remove mucus but this is different. Any advise appreciated.
Thank you for your suggestions, i shall try the carbonated drink/ cough drops and perhaps should be drinking more water too. And thanks for the welcome @A MyCOPDTeam Member
Hi Amanda. Every cough is not COPD related. It could be caused by something simple like nasal drip or digestion gases too.
Our lungs are also having a hard time getting rid of exhaled carbon gas as it is. I would skip the bubbly drinks all together. Soothing drinks with mints, lemon or honey would be better choices, indeed. Give this a quick read too:

Take care.
I often get that tickle too usually after I talk to much. Then I start cough choking. I use Vicks cough drops or Altoid Wintergreen mints.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member I did hear that carbonated drinks were not a good idea but never really knew why, that website was a very interesting read! It turns out the dr thinks my cough is still hanging on from a chest infection I had 3 weeks ago I just hadn’t realised it would take me so long to heal
:(
You are quite welcome for the welcome. Please let me know if either of those suggestions work. There are other things to try too, but maybe if neither work a call to the doc would be best. Good luck to you and have a beautiful evening @A MyCOPDTeam Member.
