How Do You Combat Large Weight Loss Due To Emphysema?

How Do You Combat Large Weight Loss Due To Emphysema?

I have lost 50 lbs in the last year and can not gain it back. I have put on 5 lbs in the last 4 months eating like a horse. Big meals
really take a toll on my breathing.

Check with your doc and get a referral to a nutrionist or dietician who can help you put together an eating plan for you. The key is calories consumed not amount of food consumed. You'll pro ably do better with six small high calorie meals rather than three big ones. Much more comfortable. I'd also talk about a good exercise program concentrating on weights and strengthening exercises. The problem is that you're probably losing muscle mass along with the weight and that's not good.

WOW, this is new one for me! I have gained about 25 - 35 lbs in the past 2 years as a result of not walking or going out due to the pandemic. I don't get any exercise due to my increasing laziness. I'm sorry for you problem. Hugs
