Has anybody ever had lung volume reduction surgery and if so, was it successful, as far as not needing oxygen and breathing much better?

Look into Zephyr Valve procedure, if you haven't already... I tried but I had 'leaks' in my lungs that disqualified me... darn it!
I have been offered a lung transplant by the Prince Charles Hospital Brisbane. I have done the evaluation will be listed in December I really would like to get it done but I am scared that I might be signing my own death Warrant. So I suppose my question is if given the opportunity how many of you would have it done. Ive been told that life expectancy is up to 5 yrs.
