My insurance will no longer cover Spiriva or Pro-Air after the first of the year. The alternatives to choose from will be Incruse Ellipta and for rescue..Ventolin or Xopenex. Anyone here using these at all?? Looking forward to your replies.... Thanks !!

When Do You Use A Rescue Inhaler Such As Ventolin?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have a Ventolin inhaler but I am not sure when to use it. Sometimes I do go into a very dry heavy cough where I can't get air in or out. Is that when I would try to take a puff of this stuff? How do you take a inhaler when you are in a coughing fit? When I'm having one of these coughing spells my granddaughter says "Gramma don't cough around me, your going to make me sick". I tell her I am not passing an illness to her, I am just coughing because I can't get the air out.....don't know how… read more

I don't think it matters, but you can always ask your doc or pharmacist if there's a recognized order for taking them and the reason for that order.

Can Anybody Tell Me What The Rescue Inhaler Is, My Doc Has Not Heard About It
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I agree if the doctor does not know what a rescue inhaler is. Then time to look for someone else to treat you. I would start by getting a good pulmonary specialist.

Which Inhaler Do You Think Is The Best For COPD? Advair, Breo, Or Symbicort
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭
A MyCOPDTeam Member

Just my opinion only.... I read there has been no evidence inhalers actually help. In my case,4 so far harm. Going the homeopathic road which I believe will do more for me and prolong my life.

Ventolin I Am On Sterevent Twice A Day And Still Use Ventolin. I Have Developed More Mucus In My Lings. Is This Normal?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have used Ventolin for about 4 years now. I started on Serevent evohaler 2 months ago. This has reduced my use of Ventolin but I seem to be getting more mucus my lungs now. Could the Serevent be responsible? Also my dormant arthritis has suddenly become inflamed. Is this just coincidence? Thank you for your help
