Do any of you use or have used a portable, home non-invasive ventilator?

Do any of you use or have used a portable, home non-invasive ventilator?

A rep for a medical company wants my doctor to prescribe one, claiming the ventilator will expand my lung capability and help remove carbon dioxide build-up and lessen shortness of breath. Cannot find anything useful on line. Most info is for temporary home use after being… read more

Throat clearing

I find myself having to clear my throat alot, especially when talking. Is this because of copd? It actually feels like mucus in my throat. I do not cough or feel like there is mucus in my lungs.

Do you find pulmonary therapy helpful?

Do you find pulmonary therapy helpful?

I have been in pulmonary rehab twice a week for about 5 months. I was hesitant at first but now after almost completing the program I found it to be extremely beneficial. If his is something your insurance covers, Go For It! The facility I attended was fantastic, you are monitored when you arrive, O2 level, BP and weighed in :( .You are checked twice more during your session. . A pace is set for you and adjusted according to the severity of your condition. I didn't think I… read more

Has anyone had lung reduction surgery. Do you recommend this surgery and were you able to stop using your oxygen?

Has anyone had lung reduction surgery. Do you recommend this surgery and were you able to stop using your oxygen?

I am going through testing before a total upper lung reduction surgery. I would like any information you have. Was it helpful? With this surgery is it possible to stop the use of oxygen? How long does it take to recover? Is it successful? Any information would help me out so much. I am concerned and nervous.
