Is It Recommended To Get Both A Flue And Pneumnia Shot
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question đź’

I was diagnosed in March with COPD and Emphysema....I am 67 years old, and am getting few answers from my Drs. I have never had a flu shot or even heard of a pneumonia shot....and was wondering if I should , and if so , why? I live alone, and the more I read, the more afraid I am getting. I take spiriva in the morning and that is all. The pulmonary tests showed high scores on getting air OUT of my lungs, but my pulmonary Dr said my breathing loss is about 30%. Should I have the shots?

Avoiding Pneumonia
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question đź’

Usually we do every thing we can to avoid pneumonia; stay away from just about everybody, keep hands clean and away from the face. Cover our face if somebody sneezes, wash food, all the things we can think of to stay reasonably healthy. Yet many of us end up in the hospital with the dreaded pneumonia. Is it because some are viral and some are bacterial? It's almost like luck of the draw. Are there things you're doing that seem to help?
