Are there any apps for smartphones that can tell you how severe or mild your cops is

Actually there is. The COPD Foundation has an app that you can download. It's called the COPD Pocket Consultant and you can get it from the app store for iPhone. You need to fill out some information and you need the numbers from your last PFT or spirometry to put in, but you can then see what stage you're at and what meds are appropriate (classification of meds, not names of meds), what treatments are recommended, etc. The app is really designed for PCPs who aren't pulmonologists to give them guidance regarding appropriate treatment for people, depending on where they fall.

I don't have one, but I don't think the smart phones are that smart. You will have go get that info from your pulmonary doctor. He gets the info from the breathing test he does on you.
