Omly have one useable leg, cannot bend over, have walkin shower. Any tips on how to shower without almost dying? I am o4 lpms
I agree with @A MyCOPDTeam Member Turn your oxygen machine up as far as it will go and if your shower doesn't have a built in seat, get one you can adjust the height on. Don't rush with your shower. Enjoy the warm water and let it wash away all your stress. Sometimes I stay in the shower until the water starts cooling off. When you get out, instead of toweling off, wrap up in a dry bath sheet or fluffy terry robe and just sit and relax for awhile. Look at your shower as a pleasurable thing you can still do instead of a choir that wears you out. Take care and remember to breath deeply.
Yes that's what I do now the weather is warm won't freeze when I get out of the shower. I wrap up, read my kindle until I feel I can walk upstairs. Bathroom is below stairs and is old and draughty. I now was my hair upstairs in kitchen because I feel too beat up if I do the both at same time. I've not been advised I can play with the oxygen though.
A shower has become my enemy. I only have one word. QUICK...
@A MyCOPDTeam Member I have fell getting in and out of the tub many times. Also the nurse that checked me out for disability from the state said I was no longer to take a bath because it takes a lot of energy. Which it does. So it was so scary...after 3 years to go ahead and take a bath. I want one of those new sitting bathtubs.
@shower: My subject. I ised shower chair and wand. After 3 years I said I gotta have a bath. I took the phone in the bathroom and had everything ready ad took a good bath, with my oxygen and fell in love. Now I don't know when I'll get the nerve again, but I did it! Praise God.
