My Dr

A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question πŸ’
Greenbrier, AR

I use a CPAP and have been having trouble breathing even with it. I went to the Dr. But the Nurse practiocner didn't take my concern seriously. She told me maybe i need to get it serviced. Today I took a nap and kept waking up because I stopped breathing. It's just like before I got the CPAP now I know what is happening.
My question is has anyone used one but after a while had problems breathing again?

I have been wearing a CPAP for about 5 years. I wear it every night. If you have a sleep disorder in your area call them for an appt. I use a CPAP that adjusts to what I need...it is set for between 5 and 13. The doctor can get a report to see how you are doing right from the machine. I have been averaging 12 1/2 so they are probably going to adjust mine a little higher. Losing weight and exercising is the best thing you can do for sleep apnea. I am trying very hard to eat healthy and get to gym good for my sleep apnea and even better for my COPD. Good luck

my machine self-adjusts to whatever setting I need which they are just changing to between 7 and 16....but either way it is on very low to start so you can fall asleep. to be honest I also take .5 to 1 mg of zanex before bed which also helps a lot!

I think that's what mine is. When I put it on, about the third breath, it gets easier to exhale

I use a CPAP for over a year now. My sleep apnea is considered mild, so my machine is set at 7. I have trouble getting a real good night sleep with it, so my Dr. got me wearing it 5 nights, and then 3 nights without. This works well for me. I also have my O2 hooked to my CPAP. Hope this helps when you talk to your Doctor!

You probably need a new sleep study as maybe you are having oxygen problems. As your pulmonary doctor tested your oxygen over night?
